At the Council of State Governments – East’s (CSG) annual conference last week, Senator Brian Pettyjohn (R-Georgetown) was elected co-chair of the organization’s Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee.
“I am honored to be named co-chair of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee,” Senator Pettyjohn said in a statement. “CSG is a wonderful organization where state legislators can connect and learn from one another.”
Committee members promote the economic importance of agriculture in the Northeast and to the entire nation.
“I am proud to share my knowledge of agriculture and Delaware’s rich farming history with my counterparts from other states. I look forward to advocating for the industry and stressing its importance on the region’s and country’s economy.”
CSG held its annual conference in Manchester, New Hampshire August 14th through the 19th.
The theme of this year’s meeting was States in Transition, which focused on how states are moving forward in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Senator Pettyjohn serves as the Senate Republican Whip and represents the 19th Senate District, which encompasses Georgetown, northern Millsboro, Long Neck, and unincorporated areas of Sussex County east of Seaford.
