Rider In Critical Condition After Saturday Morning Motorcycle Crash

Delaware State Police (DSP) is investigating a motorcycle crash that left the rider in critical condition.

At approximately 1:36 a.m. the New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS) and the Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder Company (AHH&L) of Newark were dispatched to the 1600 block of Ogletown Road, in Newark for the report of a motorcyclist injured, according to NCCEMS S/Sergeant Abigail Haas.

Haas said upon the arrival of the Paramedics, a 43-year-old male was found to have separated from his motorcycle. The man was treated by the Paramedics for a head injury, extremity injuries, and possible internal injuries.

He was transported to Christiana Hospital in critical condition by AHH&L ambulance with medics accompanying them.

Although this accident was outside their jurisdiction, Newark Police responded to the scene to assist DSP as they were delayed due to a Trooper-involved accident on Maryland Avenue.
