County Police Investigating Crash Into A Home

The New Castle County Division of Police are currently investigating a motor vehicle crash involving a pick-up truck into a home.

On Thursday (9/22), at approximately 9:40 a.m., Police were called to the 600 block of Cranhill Drive for the report of a vehicle into a home.

Officers arrived on scene and learned the 84-year-old operator of a silver 2004 pick-up truck was traveling on Millcreek Road toward McKennans Church Road when an unknown dark-colored sedan crossed over the double yellow lines. The driver of the pick-up truck then swerved to avoid a collision and traveled onto Cranhill Drive where he continued to travel through a yard and then struck a home.

The occupant of the residence, a 70-year-old man, was home at the time and uninjured. The driver of the pick-up received minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The home has been deemed unsafe due to the crash and the vehicle has been towed from the scene.

Anyone with information pertaining to this investigation is asked to contact police by calling the New Castle County Division of Police non-emergency number at 302.573.2800.
