Happening Now: Latest On Newark High School Lockdown

Newark Police currently have an increased presence at Newark High School following a report of a possibly armed student in the school. The student has been identified and investigation reveals he has likely left the school. Newark Police and school staff are working to dismiss students in a staggered manner at normal time.

Parents are asked NOT to respond to the school at this time.

Social media rumors of an active shooter on campus appear to be unfounded at this time.

FSU has learned that police have reponded to a home in the area of Red Mill Road and Capitol Trail in connection with this incident.

This incident is developing and further information will be released as it is available.
