Woman In Critical Condition After Being Struck By Vehicle

Delaware State Police are investigating an accident involving a pedestrian.

At approximately 7:08 pm, New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), Minquas Fire Company of Newport, Belvedere Fire Company, and Mill Creek Fire Company were dispatched to West Newport Pike in the area of Glenmore Drive for a motor vehicle collision with a reported pedestrian struck by a vehicle, according to NCCEMS Spokesman Oliver Kocher.

Kocher said upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found one patient, an approximately 30-year-old female patient in the care of Minquas Fire Company EMTs.

The woman suffered injuries to her head with suspected internal injuries said Kocher. She was treated on scene and transported to Christiana Hospital via Minquas Fire
Company ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. She was listed in critical condition at the time of transport.
