Route 40 Reopens Hours After Crash That Sent Three To The Hospital

The New Castle County Division of Police Traffic Services Unit is currently investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred near the intersection of Walther Road and Pulaski Highway.

Officials said on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at approximately 12:39 PM officers responded to the area in reference to a motor vehicle crash involving three vehicles.

Police say that two adult drivers and one teenage passenger were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, the roadway has been reopened. Anyone with information/surveillance video related to this investigation is asked to please contact the New Castle County Traffic Services Unit at (302)395-8052.

Breaking Report

Just before 12:45 Tuesday afternoon rescue crews and a large number of police officers responded to Route 40 in the area of Walther Road in Bear for reports of a rollover crash with injuries.

At least one patient has been transported to the trauma center.

As a result of the crash, Route 40 is closed in both directions.
