Officials are investigating an incident that closed S. Union Street in Wilmington Tuesday morning.
Residents tell FSU that police responded to a home in the 1900 block of Lakeview Road in Wilmington just before 7:00 for a barricaded subject incident.
Sometime after their arrival police requested the fire department for a fire in the basement of the home.
The subject reportedly left the home and ran back inside as the fire department arrived on scene. All fire department personnel were then ordered to stage until the incident was brought under control.
Officials have not released details regarding the incident, however, it is our understanding that the subject left the home after the SWAT team arrived on scene. Once the subject was out of the home the fire department was able to bring the fire under control. They are currently on scene overhauling the home.
Although authorities referred to the subject as “the shooter” the reports that the subject shot from the home are unconfirmed at this time.
