14-Year-Old Charged In Attempted Carjacking, Released On Unsecured Bond

Wilmington Police have arrested a 14-year-old male following an attempted carjacking incident officials said Wednesday.

Police said on January 26 at approximately 3:22 a.m., police were dispatched to the 500 block of West 38th Street where they located the victim of an attempted carjacking incident. Police located the suspect, a 14-year-old male, who fled the scene but was located and taken into custody a short time later. Police recovered a pellet gun at the scene.

The 14-year-old male has been charged with Robbery (First Degree), Assault (Second Degree), and Resisting Arrest.

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released on $10,500 unsecured bail.
