Three Arrested At School After Tobacco Store Burglary, Released On Unsecured Bond

Delaware State Police have arrested a 16-year-old juvenile male from Wilmington, DE, and a 16-year-old and 14-year-old juvenile male both of Newark, DE following the burglary of a tobacco store that took place in the Newark area.

Officials said on Thursday, February 23, 2022, at approximately 10:15 a.m., troopers responded to the Four Seasons Tobacco Store located at 700 Plaza Drive in Newark for a report of a burglary. Through investigation troopers learned that three suspects made forced entry into the business at approximately 7:28 a.m., through two windows they had smashed police said. The suspects removed various tobacco products and fled out of a rear door.

Troopers were able to identify the suspects and took them into custody at an area high school later that afternoon. The suspects were transported to Troop 2 where they were each charged with the following crimes:

  • Burglary 3rd Degree (Felony)
  • Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Theft $1,500 or Greater (Felony)
  • Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)
  • Criminal Mischief

Both 16-year-old juveniles were arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and released on a $7,800 unsecured bond.

The 14-year-old juvenile was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and released on a $3,001 unsecured bond.
