Three Helicopters, Six Trapped In Rollover Crash Saturday Morning

Just after 12:15 Saturday morning, rescue crews from Hartley, Camden-Wyoming, Dover, and Cheswold along with Kent County Paramedics, Trooper 2, Trooper 4, and LifeNet were dispatched to the 2100 block of Gunter Road in Marydel for a crash with injuries.

Upon arrival, crews reported that a vehicle was overturned with six patients trapped.

Command reported at 12:35 that three patients were freed from the vehicle. Moments later a fourth patient was removed from the vehicle.

Command advised Kent Center that the two additional patients were heavily trapped and that it would be an extended extrication. At 12:55 that last patient was freed from the vehicle.

Trooper 4 and Trooper 2 landed at the scene just as the last patients were removed from the vehicle. Two patients were transported by the helicopters to Christiana Hospital. At least two patients were transported to Kent General by ambulance. One patient refused transport at the scene. Details on the sixth patient are unknown at this time.

LifeNet was recalled and did not transport.
