Newark Man Charged With Armed Robbery Of 7-Eleven

The Delaware State Police have arrested 32-year-old Leonard Cullum of Newark for the robbery of a 7-Eleven that occurred several weeks ago. The second suspect remains at large according to police.

Officials said on February 26, 2023, at approximately 10:29 p.m., the Delaware State Police responded to a gunpoint robbery of the 7-Eleven located at 4865 Governor Printz Boulevard in Wilmington. Police said one male suspect approached the sales counter while the other suspect stood at the entrance and did not allow anyone to enter. The first suspect displayed a handgun at an employee and demanded money officials said. The victim complied, and the suspects fled from the business on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Detectives assumed the investigation and were able to determine that Leonard Cullum was the suspect who displayed a handgun. On the afternoon of March 20, 2023, Cullum was located at the Fairview Inn at 1051 South Market Street in Wilmington and taken into custody without incident. He was taken to Troop 2 and charged with Robbery First Degree (Felony), Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (Felony), and Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony).

Cullum was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $68,000 cash bond.
