Four Injured In Townsend Crash Saturday Night

Four people were injured in a motor vehicle crash in Townsend on Saturday night.

At 8:06 pm on April 22nd, 2023, emergency services were dispatched to the 1000 block of Fieldsboro Road in Townsend following a report of a two-vehicle crash with one trapped. Upon arrival, four patients were located and required emergency medical services.

The first patient was a 59-year-old female suffering from possible internal injuries who was taken to Christiana Hospital in Stanton in serious condition. The second patient was a 63-year-old male who was also transported to Christiana Hospital, again for possible internal and chest injuries. This patient was also in serious condition.

The third patient was a 64-year-old male with similar chest and internal injuries. He was transported to Christiana Hospital but was in stable condition. The fourth patient was transported by a basic life support ambulance an was in stable condition.

The Delaware State Police are investigating the crash. Agencies responding to the scene included the New Castle County Paramedics – a nationally accredited emergency medical service – Odessa Fire Company, Townsend Fire Company, Volunteer Hose of Middletown, and Port Penn Fire Company.
