Just before 2:00, Monday morning rescue crews responded to Middletown Warwick Road and Levels Road in Middletown for reports of a motorcycle crash involving a tractor-trailer.
While en route crews learned that a Middletown Police officer was on scene and was reporting the rider had succumbed to their injuries.
Later reports from a New Castle County Paramedic confirmed that the rider had died at the scene.
Middletown Police did not issue a statement regarding the crash so details surrounding the crash are not known at this time.
