Delaware State Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Accident In Middletown

The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a motorcycle accident that occurred in Middletown this morning.

At approximately 12:18 AM, emergency services received multiple reports of a traffic collision on Route 1 SB near the Middletown Odessa Road (Route 299) overpass in Middletown. In response, responders from various agencies were dispatched to the scene, including crews from the New Castle County Paramedics, along with rescue crews from Odessa, Middletown, and Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4.

Though the details surrounding the incident are still unfolding, initial reports suggest that a motorcycle was involved in the accident, which turned fatal. The rider succumbed to their injuries at the scene according to initial reports.

Due to the severity of the crash, the southbound lanes of Route 1 were temporarily closed while authorities investigated the scene and cleared the crash. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
