Trooper Reportedly Injured In I-95 Crash Wednesday

Just before 2:40 Wednesday afternoon, a Trooper was involved in a serious collision on I-95 NB south of 141, in the area of Churchmans March, according to sources familiar with the accident.

We’re told that the Trooper was inside his patrol vehicle on a car stop when it was struck by another vehicle, causing significant damage. A black sedan at the scene has heavy front-end damage (See Photo Below).

The injured Trooper, along with three other patients, has reportedly been transported to Christiana Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment for what we are told are non-life-threatening injuries. There is no information on the other patients at this time

Emergency responders have implemented lane closures while the investigation is underway. Currently, the two right lanes and the shoulder on I-95 NB are temporarily unavailable for travel.

To avoid congestion and delays, it’s recommended that drivers seek alternate routes.
