Construction Worker Seriously Injured Friday On I-95

Earlier today, at approximately 08:19 a.m., emergency services responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Interstate 95 Southbound, near Diamond State Industrial Park in Newark.

Involved agencies included New Castle County Paramedics, Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder Company, Volunteer Hose of Middletown, Christiana Fire Company, and Delaware State Police.

The incident involved a pick-up that collided with a construction worker. The 34-year-old male victim sustained serious injuries, including head trauma, extremity injuries, and potential internal damage. He was transported by Volunteer Hose of Middletown ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton, where he is being treated for his injuries.

Delaware State Police have taken charge of the investigation to determine the circumstances leading to this incident.
