Rescue crews along with New Castle County Police were dispatched to the apartments on Normandy Court, located off Salem Church Road, following reports of a stabbing Friday.
While responding crews received updates indicating that a child was the victim of the stabbing. Further information suggested the possibility that two individuals had sustained injuries in the incident.
Upon arrival at a nearby second location, the responding units reported that their patient was involved in an assault but was not stabbed.
Initial reports from the scene indicate that a 15-year-old female has been transported to an area hospital suffering from a stab wound to an upper extremity.
