Police Charge Townsend Man After Heroin Investigation

During the month of February, Detectives from the Division’s Safe Streets Task Force conducted a drug investigation involving 26-year-old Richard Ash of Townsend.

Officials said on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, detectives responded to a residence on the 300 block of Airport Road in New Castle.

A search was conducted at which time 623 bags of heroin were located. Richard Ash was contacted at the scene and was taken into custody police said.

He was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters where he was charged with one felony count of manufacture/deliver/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 2 quantity. He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of $20,000 cash bail.
