Cecil County, Maryland, law enforcement officials are conducting an investigation into a homicide that took place on Monday.
The incident, a fatal shooting, occurred just before 5 p.m. in the unit block of Hickory Lane, located near Muddy Lane in Elkton.
The initial reports from the scene suggested a teenager as the victim, but further details clarified that the victim was a 24-year-old man named Demon Nathaniel Harris, who lived in the area. Harris was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities indicated that the evidence found at the scene suggests that Harris was the target of a deliberate attack. The suspect has been described as a black male, seen wearing grey sweatpants and a dark blue or black jacket and hat. Surveillance footage captured the suspect fleeing the scene. Additionally, the suspect was last seen driving a dark blue Honda Pilot, model year 2006-2008.
