Seven-Month-Old Airlifted After Route 1 Rollover

On Thursday at around 7:08 p.m., a serious motor vehicle collision involving a rollover occurred on Route 1 northbound near Drawyers Creek Bridge.

New Castle County Paramedics, Odessa Fire Company, Volunteer Hose of Middletown, and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to the scene in response to the incident.

The collision resulted in injuries to two individuals. The first patient, a 7-month-old male, received immediate medical attention from New Castle County Paramedics at the scene.

Due to his injuries, which included head trauma and potential internal injuries, he was airlifted by Delaware State Police Aviation to A.I. DuPont Children’s Hospital. His condition was reported as serious.

The second patient, an approximately 30-year-old female, was transported by the Odessa Fire Company to Christiana Hospital in Stanton. She was in stable condition at the time of transport.

Delaware State Police are investigating.
