Delaware State Police are currently investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred just before 8:50 Monday night.
The incident took place near the intersection of East Chestnut Hill and Salem Church roads in Newark.
Official side that the victim was struck by a large truck,.The circumstances leading to the crash are still under investigation, and no details about the cause have been released at this time.
State police have closed East Chestnut Hill Road at Salem Church Road to facilitate the investigation. The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed by the authorities.
