Woman Critically Injured In Route 1 Rollover Crash

Delaware State Police are investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Monday morning at approximately 8:37 a.m. on Route 1 northbound and Interstate 95.

Upon arrival, first responders found a single vehicle that had rolled over, trapping the approximately 40-year-old female driver inside.

Lieutenant Abigail Haas, spokeswoman for New Castle County Paramedics said that the operator of the sedan was freed by fire department personnel in just under 15 minutes. Haas went on to say that the driver sustained a possible head injury and was treated on scene by paramedics before being transported to Christiana Hospital in Stanton in critical condition.

Responding agencies included New Castle County EMS (Paramedics), Christiana Fire Company, and Minquas Fire Company of Newport.

Route 1 NB at the I-95 split was closed while the crash was investigated and cleared.
