Man Found Shot In Backyard Succumbs To Injuries

Delaware State Police have updated a story that only First State Update brought you Monday morning.

On July 22, 2024, at approximately 4:47 a.m., troopers responded to the 14000 block of Collins Street in Milton for a report of a shooting. When troopers arrived, they found a 19-year-old man who was shot in upper torso and began life-saving efforts. The victim was taken by ambulance to Beebe Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was living in a shed on the property when an unknown suspect fired several shots into the shed, hitting the victim.

Officials said on July 23, 2024, the 19-year-old victim died as a result of injuries from the shooting. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.
