Elderly Man Injured During Home Invasion By Four

Delaware State Police are investigating a reported home invasion in Seaford that left a 74-year-old man with minor injuries.

Troopers were dispatched on Wednesday afternoon to a residence in the 25000 block of Rocky Road to conduct a welfare check after a relative was unable to reach the homeowner. When police arrived, they contacted the resident, who reported that he had been robbed the night before.

According to preliminary findings, a suspect had been at the residence earlier on Tuesday before returning around 6:00 p.m. with three additional men. The group forced entry into the home, and one suspect displayed a firearm. The victim told police the men demanded money and personal belongings during the confrontation.

Investigators stated that the victim was struck on the top of the head by one of the intruders before the group left the area on foot. The victim was evaluated for minor injuries, and no other people inside the residence were harmed.

State Police reported that the four suspects are described as Black males, three of whom were wearing masks.
