House Damaged By Fire Thursday Morning In Newark

File

Early Thursday morning, just before 6:15, firefighters from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder, along with mutual aid from several surrounding fire companies, responded to reports of a house fire in the unit block of Ferncliff Road in Newark.

While en route, crews learned that the caller reported the house was on fire before hanging up. Upon arrival, the first units on scene reported smoke coming from the eaves of the home and began their attack on the blaze.

After entering the residence, crews discovered the fire was located in the attic and immediately started putting water on the fire. Simultaneously, teams conducted a search of the home for any occupants. All residents had safely evacuated the home, and no one was found inside.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control, and by just before 6:40 a.m., assisting mutual aid companies were released from the scene. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
