On Friday, August 23, 2024, just before 11:00 AM, rescue crews were dispatched to the Harbor House Apartments, located in the unit block of Harbor Drive, following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered a male victim, identified as a 35-year-old, who had sustained gunshot wounds to the upper body. Despite the efforts of emergency personnel, the victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
In response to the incident, SWAT team members were seen conducting door-to-door searches within the apartment complex.
The New Castle County Division of Police has deployed detectives from the Major Crimes Squad and the Evidence Detection Squad to the scene, taking charge of the ongoing investigation. Authorities have assured the public that there is no immediate threat, though residents can expect an increased police presence in the vicinity as the investigation continues.
