Fiery Crash Closes I-95 Saturday Morning

Delaware State Police are investigating a crash that has resulted in the closure of I-95 southbound at Route 141. The incident occurred shortly before 4:20 a.m. on Saturday.

Rescue crews were dispatched following reports of a motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle on fire.

Upon arrival, the first responders discovered that one individual had been ejected from a vehicle, prompting the closure of the roadway. Command on the scene called for a total of three ambulances to assist with patient care.

One person was transported to ChristianaCare’s Trauma Center in critical condition. A second patient was taken to the hospital with undetermined injuries, while a third individual was evaluated at the scene but refused transport.

At present, I-95 southbound remains closed between Route 141 and Churchmans Road. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid the area.
