Shooting Victim Succumbs To Injuries, Troopers Identify Victim

WILMINGTON, Del. – The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Wilmington on February 19, 2025, leaving a 19-year-old man dead.

At approximately 4:29 p.m. on Wednesday, troopers responded to a report of a shooting on East Lea Boulevard in the area of Philadelphia Pike. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, identified as Jamarr Thompson, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Troopers immediately rendered life-saving aid before Thompson was transported by EMS to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Initially, the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit took over the investigation due to the severity of the victim’s injuries. Authorities determined that Thompson was walking to a residence on East Lea Boulevard when he was shot. At the time, no description of the assailant was available.

On February 21, 2025, police confirmed that Thompson succumbed to his injuries. As of the latest update, one suspect, Darmond Green, remains in custody at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution. Investigators have not disclosed details regarding Green’s alleged involvement, but updated charges against him are pending police said.
