Juvenile Struck And Killed On Maryland Ave. Monday

Wilmington Police are conducting an investigation into a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian that occurred in the early morning hours on Monday. The incident took place at approximately 5:07 a.m. in the area of Maryland Avenue and Lower Oak Street.

Responding officers and rescue personnel arrived on scene shortly after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, they located a female juvenile, believed to be between the ages of 15 and 17, who had sustained fatal injuries. The individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Wilmington Police Department’s Special Operations Division/Traffic Unit is leading the investigation. Officials have not yet released the identity of the victim and indicated that additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
