Police are investigating a collision involving a pedestrian that occurred early Tuesday morning on Dupont Boulevard in Georgetown. The incident happened at approximately 4:59 a.m. in the area of the Classic Motel.
First arriving emergency crews determined that the pedestrian had succumbed to their injuries at the scene and the roadway was ordered closed.
The Georgetown Police Department, with the assistance of the Delaware State Police, is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Motorists traveling northbound on Dupont Highway were diverted via Edward Street while the incident was investigated.
