UD Police Say Pennsylvania Man Sexually Assaulted Student In January

A Pennsylvania man has been charged in connection with a sexual assault that occurred earlier this year at the University of Delaware official said this week.

Cezanne Hoag, 22, of Lititz, Pennsylvania, faces seven charges, including four felonies, following an investigation into an assault reported on January 25, 2025. The incident took place at the University Courtyard Apartments, a student housing complex located near the university’s campus.

Hoag, who has no affiliation with the University, surrendered to authorities on April 17, 2025, after a multi-month investigation. Following his arrest, he was arraigned by video and released on $81,500 secured bail. As part of his release conditions, Hoag has been prohibited from entering any University property and is under a no-contact order with the victim, an undergraduate student residing at the University.

The investigation began after officials received a report of the assault and issued a safety alert to the campus community in accordance with federal requirements.
