Search Underway For Armed Suspect Following Officer-Involved Shooting

A law enforcement investigation is underway in Lewes where an armed white male suspect remains at large following an officer-involved shooting. The incident has prompted a large-scale response from Delaware State Police, with a heavy police presence concentrated in the area of Blackwood Drive near Angola.

Authorities have not released details surrounding the shooting, including when or how it occurred, nor have they confirmed whether any officers or individuals were injured. The identity of the suspect has also not been disclosed.

As of 5:30 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, troopers continue active search efforts in the neighborhood. Residents are being urged to remain vigilant, avoid the area, and immediately report any suspicious activity by calling 9-1-1.
