Man Charge In Connection To Fatal Shooting In Dover

The Dover Police Department has arrested 20-year-old Makhai Miller, for his alleged participation in the shooting linked to the homicide that occurred on Barrister Place on June 14th.

Officials said During the investigation into the shooting death of Daniel Guzman Jr., it was learned that at least three groups of individuals were shooting at each other during this incident. Miller was identified as shooting a handgun during this incident as a participant in one of the groups police said.

While Miller was involved in the shooting incident, Detectives are continuing to gather and evaluate evidence and are working closely with the Delaware Department of Justice to identify the individual responsible for the homicide.

On July 2nd, 2025, Miller was taken into custody and transported to the Dover Police Department to be processed and arraigned. He was committed to SCI on $66,000 cash bail after being charged with Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony and Reckless Endangering First Degree.
