Laurel, Delaware – Delaware State Police have arrested a 22-year-old Laurel man in connection with a series of thefts from vehicles in multiple Sussex County communities.

Authorities said the thefts took place between June 10 and June 17, 2025, when troopers investigated a series of overnight incidents in Autumn Oaks, Overbrook Shores, Vincent Overlook in Milton, Eagle Run in Lincoln, and Edgewater Estates in Lewes. In each case, individuals trespassed onto residential properties and stole money and property from unsecured vehicles.
During the investigation, detectives identified a silver Chevrolet Cruz as a vehicle used by the suspects. Through investigative efforts, police identified Donsha Sturgis as one of the individuals involved police said.
On July 1, 2025, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2800 block of Daniel Street in Laurel, where Sturgis was taken into custody without incident.
Sturgis was transported to Delaware State Police Troop 4, where he was charged with three felony counts of Theft Under $1,500 Where a Victim is 62 Years of Age or Older, one count of felony Conspiracy Second Degree, five counts of Theft Under $1,500, and eleven counts of Criminal Trespass Third Degree. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on his own recognizance.
