Route 7 Closed In Bear, Man Critically Injured Friday

A rollover crash closed part of Bear Christiana Road (Route 7) in New Castle County Friday afternoon.

At approximately 3:21 p.m., emergency crews responded to the southbound lanes of Route 7 near Newtown Road for a reported rollover collision. Officials confirmed that the southbound side of the roadway was closed as first responders worked the scene.

At least one male patient was transported from the crash in critical condition. The Delaware Department of Transportation issued an advisory at 4:29 p.m., warning motorists that the road was closed and urging drivers to use caution and seek alternate routes.

Authorities have not yet released details on the cause of the crash or how many vehicles were involved.
