Delaware State Police have charged a Wilmington man after a crash investigation at St. Georges Technical High School resulted in multiple injuries and damaged vehicles.
On September 9, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., a School Resource Officer was alerted to a Tesla being driven erratically in the wrong direction through the school’s parking lot. The vehicle struck several parked cars before coming to rest. The driver, identified as 45-year-old Andrew Naylor of Wilmington, was found in the driver’s seat. Officers reported a strong odor of alcohol and later discovered multiple bottles of alcoholic beverages inside the vehicle police said.
According to investigators, Naylor’s vehicle struck three others during the incident. A Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 55-year-old Delaware City woman, a Chevrolet Trax driven by a 42-year-old Middletown man, and a Honda Civic driven by a 45-year-old Townsend man all sustained damage.
The 55-year-old woman was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 42-year-old Middletown man was hospitalized with serious injuries. The Townsend man declined medical treatment. Naylor was also taken to the hospital for evaluation, and police later obtained a warrant for a blood draw.
School officials confirmed no students or staff were injured, and classes continued without disruption.
Following his release from the hospital, Naylor was taken to Troop 6, where he was charged with first-degree vehicular assault, second-degree vehicular assault, and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on an unsecured bond of $1,100.
