Troopers Update Armed Robbery In New Castle

Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Monday afternoon at a Gulf gas station in New Castle.

At approximately 12:22 p.m. on September 1, 2025, troopers were dispatched to the Gulf station at 752 West Basin Road following reports of a robbery. According to investigators, a male suspect entered the business, displayed a handgun, and demanded money from the register. The employee complied with the demands, and the suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a Black male in his thirties, dressed entirely in black clothing. Following the incident, police units, assisted by Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4 helicopter, conducted a search in the nearby Chelsea Estates and Manor Park developments.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not released further details at this time.
