Wilmington Police have taken a suspect into custody in connection with multiple armed robberies that occurred over the summer.
Authorities said that on July 15 at approximately 4:46 p.m. and again on July 19 at approximately 5:25 p.m., officers from the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 300 block of East 25th Street for reports of armed robberies. The investigations were assigned to Detective Brendan Wham of the Criminal Investigations Division.
Detective Wham identified 20-year-old Semaj Lloyd as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest police said. On October 4, members of the Wilmington Police Gun Intelligence Unit located Lloyd in the area of East 10th and North Pine Streets, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Lloyd has been charged with two counts of Robbery (First Degree), two counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, two counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, one count of Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, and one count of Conspiracy (Second Degree). He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $221,000 cash-only bail.
