Two Injured In Rollover Crash In Newark

Emergency crews responded to a serious crash involving a vehicle rollover and entrapment during the Monday morning commute in Newark.

At approximately 6:44 a.m., New Castle County Paramedics and the Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Company were dispatched to the intersection of Capitol Trail and Possum Park Road for a reported two-vehicle collision with a person trapped. Upon arrival, crews located a crash involving a Jeep and an SUV, with the SUV coming to rest on its side.

Fire department personnel worked for approximately ten minutes to extricate the driver of the Jeep from the wreckage. The 53-year-old female driver of the Jeep was evaluated on scene and transported in stable condition with a possible neck injury. The 43-year-old male driver of the SUV was also transported in stable condition with possible internal injuries.

Both patients were taken by Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Company ambulances to Christiana Hospital for further treatment.

Delaware State Police is investigating the cause of the crash.
