Pedestrian Struck And Killed Early Sunday

Wilmington Police are investigating the death of a 22-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning.

Officials said officers responded at approximately 7:09 a.m. to the area of 4th and Jackson Streets for a reported motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers located the man who was suffering from serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene following the crash.
