Two Critically Injured In Shooting Saturday

A shooting in the city’s north side left two in critical condition Saturday evening, according to authorities.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:16 p.m. in the area of East 24th and Lamotte streets, where officers with the Wilmington Police Department responded to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, police located a 16-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The teen was transported to a nearby hospital and remains in critical condition.

A second victim, identified as a 25-year-old male, was also found at the scene with gunshot injuries. He was transported to the hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Investigators have not released information regarding a suspect or motive as the case remains active.
