Victim Critically Injured In Newark-Area Fire Saturday

Fire investigators are examining the cause of an early morning residential fire in Newark that left one person critically injured.

Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 6:10 a.m. to a home on Schuyler Court, where units arrived to find a fire involving the residence. During operations, a victim was located and removed from the scene.

The individual was transported by emergency medical personnel to Christiana Emergency Room in critical condition.

Multiple fire and EMS units responded and operated on scene for over an hour before the incident was brought under control and cleared shortly after 7:15 a.m.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the origin and cause of the fire. No additional details have been released.
