15-Year-Old Charged In TikTok Armed Robbery

The Delaware State Police have arrested a 15-year-old Wilmington resident in connection with an armed robbery that investigators say was arranged through TikTok and resulted in the theft of an electric bicycle.

According to police, the incident occurred on May 29, 2026, at approximately 5 p.m. Troopers responded to the rear of a business in the 3800 block of Kirkwood Highway after receiving a report of an armed robbery.

The investigation determined that the victim had connected with a suspect through the social media platform TikTok. The two agreed to meet on Maryland Avenue in Wilmington and ride their electric bicycles together. After spending time riding in the area, the suspect allegedly convinced the victim to accompany him to the rear of a business on Kirkwood Highway under the guise of creating social media videos.

Once at the location, police said a second suspect, who was wearing a mask, approached the victim, displayed a handgun, and demanded the victim’s electric bicycle. The victim surrendered the bike, and both suspects fled the area. No injuries were reported.

The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit assumed responsibility for the investigation and identified the armed suspect as a 15-year-old male. Detectives subsequently obtained a search warrant for a residence in the unit block of Courtyard Lane in Wilmington.

On June 18, 2026, members of the Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team assisted detectives in executing the search warrant. The teenager was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect was transported to Troop 2, where he was charged with first-degree robbery, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, and second-degree conspiracy. Following arraignment in New Castle County Family Court, he was committed to the custody of the Department of Services for Children, Youth, and Their Families on a $5,000 secured bond.

The investigation remains ongoing. Police have not released information regarding the identity of the second suspect involved in the robbery.
