Police: Knife Wielding Man Apprehended By K-9 Ax

Bear – New Castle County Police (NCCPD)  have arrested 20-year-old Brendan Meyers for charges related to a fight where he threatened people with a knife in the community of Kings Mill, according to NCCPD Spokeswoman Heather Carter.

Carter said on Sunday (July 30) at approximately 1:46 a.m., New Castle County Police were dispatched to the unit block of N. Dragon Dr for a fight. Police learned that 20-year-old Brendan Meyers became upset with his friends and threatened them with a knife, said Carter. The suspect then fled on foot when police arrived.

K-9 Ax and his handler responded to the scene and conducted a track. Brendan Myers was located approximately 1 mile away from the residence hiding in a bush. He was taken into custody without further incident by assisting officers.

Brendan Myers was charged with 3 counts of aggravating menacing, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and offensive touching. He was arraigned and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution for failing to post $13,000.00 secured bail.
