County Police Arrest Off-Duty University of Delaware Police Officer

On Thursday, February 1, 2018, Detectives from the New Castle County Police, Criminal Investigations Unit arrested 29-year-old Bernard Innocent, a University of Delaware Police Officer, charging him with misdemeanor child abuse in the third degree and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child, according to M/Cpl. Heather Carter.

Carter said the charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the New Castle County Police Criminal Investigations Unit. Bernard Innocent’s arrest is not related to the University or his employment as a University of Delaware Police Officer, according to Carter.

Bernard Innocent was arraigned, released on $2,000.00 unsecured bond.
