Refinery Worker Burned In Delaware City, Motorcycle Rider Injured In Newark

Just after 10:00 last night emergency crews respond to two separate incidents in New Castle County.

Crews from the Delaware City Fire Company responded to the Delaware City refinery for reports of a person with burn injuries. Initial reports indicate that the patient may have suffered chemical burns. Trooper 4 was dispatched to the scene but was not utilized. We will update this incident as more information becomes available.

At around the same time that the Delaware City incident occurred, crews from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder responded to Old Baltimore Pike at Route 72 for reports of a motorcycle rider down in the roadway. It’s believed that the rider suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
