Route 141 Crash Sends Four To Area Hospital

New Castle – At 8:09 last evening, Monday, October 9, 2018, rescue crews from the Minquas Fire Company, along with crews from Wilmington Manor, Cranston Heights, Five Points, New Castle County Paramedics, Newport Police and Delaware State Police responded to Route 141 SB in the area of Old Airport Road for reports of a vehicle accident with multiple patients trapped.

Crews from the Minquas Fire Company arrived on scene within five minutes of being dispatched and began accessing the scene. Crews from the other companies arrived shortly thereafter.

It’s not clear at this time if there were multiple vehicles involved or if more that one patient was trapped in a single vehicle.

Shortly after Command reported that the extrication was complete, at 8:21, four stretchers were observed near the location where firefighters had been working to extricate the patient(s).

Early reports indicate that four patients were transported to Christiana Hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

We’re expecting authorities to update to this story later this morning.
