The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announced today that the new US 301 Mainline will open to traffic tomorrow, Thursday, January 10, 2019.

The nearly 14-mile road will be opening in stages beginning after the morning rush hour with the new southbound lanes opening first.
The Middletown bypass stretches from Route 1, at Biddles Corner, to the Delaware state line with Maryland.
Two-axle vehicles with an E-Z Pass tag will pay $4 to drive the length of the road. $5.60 without E-Z Pass. Fines if you don’t pay.
Six-axle vehicles with an E-Z Pass tag will pay $12 to drive the length of the road. $14.40 without E-Z Pass. Fines if you don’t pay.
The new toll-road will not have a cash option or toll booths for that matter. If you’re not an E-Z Pass subscriber you will get a bill in the mail.
It cost $636 million and it took three years to complete.
