Dover Police Arrest Woman After Stabbing Incident

Dover – The Dover Police Department arrested a 22-year-old woman after stabbing/cutting a 26-year-old female during a fight.  Nykia Jones was arrested after turning herself in at the Dover Police Department shortly after the incident occurred just after 11:00 a.m. in the 300 Block of N. Governors Avenue, according to Dover Police Spokesman Mark Hoffman.

Hoffman said that Jones and a 26-year-old female has become involved in a physical altercation, when Jones allegedly used a knife to cause several injuries to the 26-year-old woman.  The victim had to undergo emergency surgery for her injuries but is in stable condition at this time, said Hoffman.

Jones was released on $40,250 unsecured bond on the following charges:
-Assault 1st Degree
-Possession of Deadly Weapon During Commission of Felony
-Disorderly Conduct
