Georgetown Man Gets Five Years For Raping 15-Year-Old, Getting Her Pregnant

A 56-year-old Georgetown man was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to raping a teenager.

In August 2018, the results of a paternity test showed Andrew Long was the father of a child born to a girl in 2013 when the mother was just 15 years old.

The investigation found the two had sex multiple times over the course of a year. Long pleaded guilty to Rape Third Degree and was sentenced by a Superior Court judge to 5 years in prison, including completion of the Transitions sex offender treatment program, followed by 5 years of probation.

Long must also register as a Tier 3 sex offender. Deputy Attorney General Haley King prosecuted the case with assistance from social worker Carla Ennals and administrative assistant Angie Waters.

Correction: An earlier version of this story indicated that the victim was the man’s daughter. The identity of the victim is not known.
